The 24-105mm f/4 series has established itself as one of the most popular lenses in the L lens history. It is the first interchangeable Canon lens to increase the maximum aperture setting from f/4 to a fixed f/2.8, across the entire zoom range. In addition to a new optical structure, featuring a fixed front lens element and movable multi-component lens elements in the rear. With three aspherical lens elements and four Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) lens elements, this lens achieves high image quality which matches that of the RF24-70mm f/2.8 L IS USM. It also supports high-resolution 8K movie shooting. The lens is equipped with two nano Ultrasonic Motors (USM) that offer high-speed AF for still image shooting and smoothly adjusting AF for recording movies. Two floating focal groups are driven independently by two nano USMs, thus providing high image quality. The lens is equipped with an iris (aperture) ring, and it is the first RF lens to support comfortable unassisted single-person movie shooting. It is compatible with the PZ-E2/PZ-E2B Power Zoom Adapter (sold separately), which ensures a smooth zoom that is difficult to achieve manually. This is one of the lenses that Canon has developed to usher in a new age of photographic expression.
