Speedlite EL-1 is capable of micro flash of power as low as 1/8192 to express colour nuances along with high-speed flash recycle time as fast as 0.1sec and up to 160 times continuous flash burst. Apart from being dust and drip resistance, Speedlite EL-1 can fire up to 335 times at full power of 1/1 with the new LP-EL battery.

The Speedlite EL-1 is engineered to provide stable flash burst at a low flash output. The new structure design with its improved firing circuitry provides precise flash output making it possible to achieve 1/8192 micro flash.
Each reduction of power on Speedlite, reduces the output of the flash by half; effectively providing 1 f-stop of dynamic range. The Speedlite EL-1 offers up to 14 f-stops of dynamic range, from full power of 1/1 down to 1/8192.
Wonders of Micro Flashes
With the Speedlite EL-1, you're able to wireless control up to 15 other flash units via radio transmission. If the main transmiter and receivers are all Speedlite EL-1, you could even wireless control the flashes to fire micro flashes of 1/8192.
Using compatible Speedlites, you're even able to use the second curtain sync feature.

High-speed Flash Recycling
Flash recycle time refers to the time for the flash to recharge sufficient energy to fire again to capture the precise moment.
Speedlite EL-1's new charging circuit and the use of the lithium-ion battery allows faster charge time; achieving full recharge at only 0.9 seconds* for a 1/1 output and 0.1 seconds for a 1/8192 output.
*using CP-E4N allows full recharge at 0.4 seconds
Higher Capacity
Using the new LP-EL* lithium-ion battery, the Speedlite EL-1 is capable of up to 335 flashes on a full charge.
When paired with CP-E4N, you can achieve up to 680 flashes.
*can be charged with LP-E6N & LP-E6NH battery chargers as well.
High Continuous Burst
With a new xenon bulb and an active cooling system that uses a built-in fan to circulate cool air inside the flash head, increasing the number of continous flash burst.
The Speedlite EL-1 is now capable of firing up to 160 times continously on full power of 1/1.
Improved E-TTL
The improved E-TTL (Evaluative Through-The-Lens) metering allows further customisation to better suit their needs. The Speedlite EL-1 allows you to choose your desired balance (Ambience-priority/ Standard/Strong) based on the available light (Dark/Middle/Light).
Intuitive Interface
The memory-in-pixel reflective LCD display panel of the Speedlite EL-1 provides a clear view of your settings.
The addition of a joystick in the middle of the dial provides a more intuitive way to browse through the menu and to make adjustments.
LED Modeling Lamp
The Speedlite EL-1 incorporated a set of twin LED modeling lamps with 5-step brightness and colour adjustment into its design.
You're able to better envision the light direction of the Speedlite prior to shooting, allowing better adjustments.
Dust & Drip Resistance Adapter
Rubber adapter is attached to the lock component of the Speedlite that attaches to the hot shoe of the camera. When in lock position, it provides dust and drip resistance.
Dust & Drip Resistance Body
Sealings are applied to moving parts and joints exterior parts to provide Speedlite EL-1 the dust and drip resistance that is equivalent of EOS-1D X series.
Rubber materials are used on the battery compartment lid and terminal cover.
