Cinematic Videography Workshop - Crafting the phenomenal visual - Canon Malaysia

Introduction

Introduction: This workshop focuses on both basic and advanced techniques in creating cinematic videos, emphasizing visual composition and the use of camera settings that match the ambient atmosphere. Participants will be introduced to identifying key environmental elements to build a strong visual narrative, including the use of available light, color, and balance in video framing. The workshop also introduces the fundamentals of three-point lighting: Key Light, Fill Light, and Backlight.

Brief Syllabus: The sessions cover the theoretical understanding of cinematography, composition techniques such as the rule of thirds, leading lines, and dynamic framing, as well as guidance on building ambience using practical lighting, color, and the surrounding space. Participants will receive hands-on instruction in three-point lighting using real lighting systems. The workshop also includes a practical on-site session (at Hard Rock Cafe) to allow participants to explore creative ways of shaping visual mood using the existing space and light.
