NOTIFICATION ON THE CHANGES IN THE SALES AND SERVICE TAX (SST) IN MALAYSIA
We refer to the above matter.
With reference to the announcement made by the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (Jabatan Kastam Diraja Malaysia), the SST rate will be increased from 6% to 8% with effect from 1 March 2024, and the expansion of taxable services (covering logistic services, and repair and maintenance services) has taken effect on 26 February 2024, however the imposition of this SST will only take effect on 1 March 2024.
In light of the above, please be advised that we will apply the SST according to the changes in the service tax laws from 1 March 2024. Our Service Tax registration number is B16-2203-32000012.
