The Canon Think Tanks System™
Wasting ink by having to replace all the colors in a cartridge just because one color is spent is a thing of the past. The Canon Think Tank System™ uses individual ink tanks for each color. When one runs out, simply replace that colour - not the entire cartridge. No more ink waste - just big money savings.

Individual Ink Tank System
During printing of colour documents, it is rare for the four ink colours - black, cyan, magenta, and yellow - to be used uniformly. When one colour of an Integrated cartridge runs out, the whole cartridge have to be thrown away even though the rest of the colours still remains. With the individual ink tank system, Canon has introduced a system whereby each colour is separated into individual ink tanks. When one colour runs out, you’ll just need to change a new ink tank instead of trashing the whole cartridge.

Real-time Ink-level Detector
The unique Ink-Level Detector sends you ‘Ink Low’ and ‘Ink Out’ warning messages when ink levels drop. This system saves money by preventing waste caused by ink running out in the middle of a printing job.

See-through Ink Tanks The see-through ink tanks allow you to check ink levels at a glance.

Optical Ink-level Detectors The optical system monitors the amount of ink remaining by measuring the light reflected from the prisms in each tank.

Dot Counter Ink-level Detector Once the tank is empty, the dot counter monitors the number of ink dots actually printed to determine how much ink remains in the ink tank. When the limit is reached, a warning is displayed on the monitor screen.

Super Economy Mode

The printer driver reduced the number of dots to be printed to ¼ when printing draft copies. Thus ensuring more ink savings.
