SHAH ALAM, 21 JULY 2025 - Canon Marketing Malaysia (“Canon”) is pleased to announce that it has once again been recognised at the Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards, receiving the Company of the Year title for the eighth consecutive year. In addition to this milestone, Canon was also presented with the Company of the Year for Long-standing Excellence award — a distinction that acknowledges organisations with a consistent and demonstrable impact in the sustainability and corporate responsibility landscape over time.
Held on 17 July 2025, the annual ceremony recognised Canon’s enduring focus on responsible business practices, community enrichment, and environmental stewardship — pillars that have become synonymous with the Canon brand in Malaysia.
“We are grateful for this continued recognition and accept these awards with a sense of responsibility more than celebration,” said Masato Yoshiie, President and CEO of Canon Marketing Malaysia. “Sustainability has always been integral to how we operate — not as a project, but as a guiding principle across our business and partnerships.”
Scaling Impact Through Purposeful Collaboration
Canon’s sustainability efforts in the past year have centred on creating long-term value through meaningful partnerships. From supporting research that empowers senior citizens with Universiti Malaya to backing community care through the Hospis Malaysia Charity Bazaar, Canon continues to align its outreach with real societal needs. Initiatives in education and cultural engagement — including sponsorship of the Japan Film Festival and Universiti Sains Malaysia’s Festival Filem Anak Muda — further reflect its commitment to inclusivity and empowerment.
Environmental efforts remained a core focus, with the continuation of the “One Canon One Tree” campaign, expanding while building environmental awareness on a community level. These initiatives exemplify Canon’s belief in consistent, measured action — not just as part of corporate responsibility, but as an integrated part of how it contributes to Malaysia’s future.
Looking ahead, Canon is expanding its involvement through a growing slate of initiatives designed to deepen local engagement. These include its recent appointment as the Official Imaging Partner of the Malaysia Pickleball Summit, with further plans to support grassroots sporting events. Canon has also entered a two-year strategic partnership with Gamuda Land to drive youth empowerment and environmental stewardship through tree planting, bird conservation, eco-storytelling, and community workshops.
Canon’s recent efforts also highlight its deepening commitment to inclusivity and empowerment. Under its One Canon One Tree initiative, the company partnered with SIREH Park to host a tree planting event that included educational and experiential activities for children with diverse abilities — promoting equal access to nature education and fostering environmental awareness in an inclusive setting. Canon is also proud to support the second edition of the Wanita GIG and Business in Technology Programme, led by the Department of Women’s Development (JPW) under the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development. As part of this collaboration, Canon will be working closely with JPW and Maxis through the Maxis eKelas Usahawan programme, running from July to November 2025, to conduct basic photography and videography workshops — empowering women entrepreneurs with essential content creation skills to elevate their businesses.
These ongoing and future-focused initiatives reflect Canon’s commitment to evolving its role in sustainability — not only by maintaining consistency but by continuously raising the bar for impact. Its Kyosei philosophy — “living and working together for the common good” — continues to be the strategic lens through which Canon identifies opportunities to create shared value for people and the planet.
Canon’s continued recognition in the CSR space reflects a steady and measured approach to social impact — one that prioritises relevance, accountability, and long-term value creation. Rather than short-term campaigns, the company remains focused on sustaining high-impact initiatives through multi-year partnerships, community-driven programmes, and public collaborations that create lasting value for Malaysians across various sectors.
As the company enters its next chapter of sustainable growth, Canon remains focused on amplifying its positive footprint across Malaysia — with fresh ideas, bold partnerships, and a commitment that has never wavered.
